Pawsome Resort Review: Is It Worth Playing in Early Access?

An honest Pawsome Resort review for Early Access. We break down the gameplay, pros, cons, and whether it is worth buying right now.

Last verified: 2026-06-25

Pawsome Resort entered Steam Early Access on June 22, 2026. This review covers what is in the game today, who it is best for, and whether it is worth picking up now or waiting for the 1.0 release.

What Pawsome Resort Does Well

Cozy atmosphere from the start. The pixel-art village of Pebble Town is bright, warm, and full of small details. The day-night cycle, seasonal weather, and gentle soundtrack make the resort feel alive.

Satisfying management loop. You clean habitats, feed animals, craft goods, plant crops, and complete villager requests. The loop is simple but rewarding, especially as your resort grows.

Plenty of animals to care for. Early Access already includes over 25 animal species, each with their own habitat needs. Unlocking and decorating new enclosures is one of the strongest parts of the game.

Villagers and quests. Characters like Rudgar and Serenya give you tasks that teach new systems. There is also a mysterious witch storyline for players who want a little adventure alongside their farming.

Co-op support. The Early Access build includes basic two-player online co-op. More multiplayer features are planned, but playing with a friend already works.

Transparent roadmap. Pixel Puffs plans to keep the game in Early Access for around one year, with frequent updates adding animals, systems, and story content. The price is not planned to increase when the game leaves Early Access.

Where It Still Needs Work

Some systems feel early. Crafting, cooking, and late-game progression are present but shallow compared to similar life-sim games. Expect this to expand during Early Access.

Console and mobile not available. Pawsome Resort is PC-only for now. If you prefer playing on Switch or mobile, you will have to wait.

A few rough edges. As with most Early Access launches, you may run into minor bugs, placeholder text, or balance issues. The developers have said they plan frequent updates.

Is Pawsome Resort Worth It?

Buy it now if:

  • You enjoy cozy life sims like Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing.
  • You want to support the developers and help shape the game.
  • You do not mind a work-in-progress experience.

Wait for 1.0 if:

  • You prefer a finished, polished game.
  • You want to play on console or mobile.
  • You need deep crafting or end-game systems right away.

Bottom Line

Pawsome Resort is a charming, relaxing animal-resort simulator with a strong foundation. Early Access players get a cozy world to build in, but content and polish will improve over the next year. Check the Steam store for the current price and any launch discount before buying.
