Welcome to Pebble Town and your very own animal resort. Pawsome Resort is a cozy life sim with hotel management, farming, crafting, and light RPG elements. This beginner's guide walks you through the first day and the habits that will keep your resort running smoothly afterward.
Getting Started
After the intro, you arrive at a farm that needs a little love. Your first goal is simple: clear space, gather basic resources, and learn how to care for your first sheep. Do not worry about building everything on day one. The tutorial walks you through the essentials and gives you just enough tools to get started.
The tutorial sequence follows these steps:
- Clear the farm. Chop down five trees with your axe and break rocks with your pickaxe.
- Use your scooter. Your scooter is parked next to your home. Hop on it to travel faster.
- Visit the lumberjack. He is located in the area west of your farm, then northwest.
- Buy a sheep habitat. Purchase it from the habitat shop using the materials and cash you gathered.
- Buy feed. Go to the shop north of the lumberjack and buy Farmer's Mix from the Others tab.
- Return to your resort. Talk to the customer at the counter.
- Move the sheep into its habitat. Interact with the sheep to make it follow you, lead it inside the habitat, then interact again so it stays.
- Place food and water. Put Farmer's Mix in the feeding bowl and fill the water trough.
- Keep the habitat clean. Use the broom to remove mess.
- Pet the sheep. Interact with it to make it happier.
Take a moment to look around. Pebble Town is a charming pixel-art village filled with trees, rocks, wild plants, and friendly villagers. Almost everything you see can be gathered, planted, or interacted with in some way. The key is to focus on one task at a time instead of trying to do everything at once.
First Day Checklist
Use this checklist so nothing important slips by on day one:
- Clean up the farm. Pick up branches, stones, and weeds. These drop wood, stone, and fiber you will need for crafting.
- Chop trees and break rocks. Wood and stone are used for workbench upgrades, habitat expansion, and many early recipes.
- Visit the lumberjack and shop. Buy a sheep habitat and Farmer's Mix feed.
- Meet the villagers. Say hello to Rudgar near the farm entrance and Serenya at the Veterinary clinic. They unlock early quests and recipes.
- Check your first sheep. Make sure the habitat has food, water, and a clean floor.
- Plant crops before the day ends. Green beans, radish, and hay are needed for the Farmer's Mix recipe later.
- Sleep at a reasonable time. Ending the day refreshes your energy and advances the calendar.
Tools You Will Use First
Pawsome Resort uses mouse and keyboard controls. Your toolbar holds the tools below. The exact key bindings are covered in our Pawsome Resort controls guide, but the tools themselves are easy to recognize once you start using them:
- Axe — chops trees and logs into wood.
- Pickaxe — breaks rocks into stone and ore.
- Scythe — cuts grass, weeds, and mature crops.
- Hoe — tills soil so you can plant seeds.
- Watering Can — waters crops so they grow on schedule.
- Broom — cleans dirt and debris inside habitats and guest areas.
Keep these tools on your hotbar. Switching quickly between axe, hoe, and watering can saves a lot of time during the first few days. If a tool breaks or loses durability, repair or replace it as soon as you can.
Your First Sheep
The tutorial gives you a Sheep Habitat and your first sheep. Sheep are the tutorial animal, so caring for them teaches you the basics of animal happiness.
- Food: Sheep eat Farmer's Mix. In the very early moments, the tutorial may give you a small amount. Later, you craft it yourself.
- Water: Make sure the habitat water trough is full.
- Hay: Add hay to the feeding area.
- Clean habitat: Use the broom to remove mess. A clean habitat keeps animal stress low.
Happy sheep produce better resources and help your resort reputation grow. Watch the mood icons or animations around your sheep to learn when something is wrong. If the sheep looks unhappy, check food, water, and cleanliness in that order.
Feeding and Cleaning
Animal care is the heart of Pawsome Resort. Each animal has a habitat, a food preference, and environmental needs. For the sheep, the verified needs are hay, water, and a clean habitat.
To feed an animal:
- Open your inventory.
- Select the correct feed.
- Place it in the habitat feeding bowl.
After you complete the Something's Not Right quest, a rescued creature can automate feeding as long as your feed storage is stocked. This is a huge quality-of-life upgrade, so make that quest a priority on day two.
Cleaning is just as important. Use the broom daily inside each habitat. Dirty habitats lower animal mood and can slow resource production. A quick morning sweep takes only a few seconds and prevents larger messes from forming later.
Sleeping and Ending the Day
When your energy runs low or you have finished your chores, return to your bed to sleep. Sleeping saves your progress, restores energy, and moves the game to the next morning. Crops take a few days to mature; check their growth stage each morning. New quests may appear when you wake up.
Before you sleep, double-check:
- Crops are watered.
- Animals have food and water.
- Any perishable items are stored or used.
- Tools are repaired if durability matters.
Sleeping is also the safest way to save. If you are worried about losing progress, end the day rather than running around with low energy.
Next-Day Routine
Once day two begins, follow this short routine to stay efficient:
- Water crops first. They will not grow if they are dry.
- Harvest anything ready. Radish and green beans grow quickly and are useful for Farmer's Mix.
- Feed and clean for every habitat. A quick morning sweep prevents mess from stacking up.
- Talk to villagers with quest markers. Rudgar gives the Something's Not Right quest on day two after you read the newspaper. Serenya gives the About What Animals Eat quest, which unlocks the Farmer's Mix recipe.
- Plan your afternoon. Use leftover energy for gathering, expansion, or exploring the map on your scooter.
If you stick to this routine, your farm will stay productive and your animals will stay happy without much extra effort.
Quick Tips for New Players
- Do not sell every resource. Keep a stack of wood, stone, and fiber for crafting and upgrades.
- Plant crops in neat rows so you can water them efficiently.
- Talk to villagers every day. Some dialogue hints at unlocks or quest triggers.
- Expand habitats only when you can feed the new animals.
- Save often by sleeping. There is no reason to stay up late if your chores are done.
- Check the newspaper in the morning. It can trigger quests or give hints about events.
