Expanding your habitats is one of the best ways to grow your resort in Pawsome Resort. More habitats mean more animals, more daily income, and more ways to customize your farm.
How Habitat Expansion Works
Talk to Rudgar, the resort handyman, to start a habitat expansion request. He will ask for a set of materials. Once delivered, new habitat options unlock in the habitat shop menu.
First Expansion Request
Rudgar's first habitat expansion quest requires:
- 50 wood
- 20 stone
After delivering these materials, the first page of the habitat shop menu unlocks, giving you access to new animal habitats beyond the starting sheep habitat.
Which Habitat to Unlock First
The community generally recommends unlocking the cat habitat first. Cats are a good early animal because they are small, easy to care for, and help you learn the basics of hosting more than one species.
Tips for Expanding Efficiently
- Gather materials in zones instead of running randomly around the map.
- Chop trees and break rocks every morning so resources respawn overnight.
- Only build habitats you can feed. Each new animal needs daily food, water, and cleaning.
- Automate feeding first by completing the Something's Not Right quest.
- Keep a stockpile of wood, stone, and fiber so you are ready when Rudgar asks for upgrade materials.
Habitat Upgrades vs. New Habitats
- New habitats host entirely new animal species.
- Habitat upgrades improve comfort for the animals already living there.
Both cost materials, so plan your expansion around your daily routine and feed supply.
Where Habitat Expansion Fits in the Early Game
- Complete the sheep tutorial.
- Plant crops for Farmer's Mix.
- Unlock automated feeding through Something's Not Right.
- Gather 50 wood and 20 stone for Rudgar.
- Build the cat habitat or another early animal habitat.
- Expand further once your daily routine is stable.
